Dr. Lisa Heath graduated from University of Illinois with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.  Upon graduation, she went to University of Michigan for a 3-year residency in laboratory animal medicine, to specialize in the care and welfare of research animals.  Over the years, she has worked in biotechnology companies and academic institutions,  as well as small animal general practices.  Dr. Heath also enjoys teaching, and has taught courses in a veterinary technician college program.  

In addition to general medicine and urgent care, Dr. Heath has a special interest in animal behavior and training.  She enjoys helping pet owners with assessing and solving behavior problems, developing behavior modification plans, and ultimately improving the bond between pets and their families.  

In her spare time, Dr. Heath rides Icelandic horses, shows and trains her terriers, and enjoys ballroom dancing with her husband.
